Our Story

How We Met
We met in Charleston, SC, at CrossFit Wando in March of 2022. Erin was so busy with work that she didn’t really give Taylor the time of day. Meanwhile, Taylor was focused on Power School and enjoying life. Our first conversation was about tattoos, and though we didn’t connect much then, we reconnected in July after we both came back from our Fourth of July vacations. Taylor sparked a conversation, and Erin learned that he was in the military and new to the area. Being the hospitable person she is, Erin gave Taylor her number to send him all the fun things to do in Charleston.

First Date
Our first date was on July 10th, 2022—sunrise paddle boarding on Erin’s creek. From that moment, we just clicked. We bonded over our shared love of family, faith, and adventure. A few weeks later, we took our first trip together—a road trip to a Spartan race in Columbia, followed by a visit to the Whitewater Center in Charlotte. That trip sealed the deal. We knew we had something special.

The Proposal
Taylor proposed on New Year’s Eve in Arizona, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. He invited Erin’s mom and stepdad to fly out, so we were surrounded by family. After we came home from church, we were playing with the family’s dogs, Cosmo and Maui, when Taylor got down on one knee. Family, church, and dogs—it was everything we could’ve hoped for in that moment.

Shared Interests and Adventures
Since then, we’ve started to travel the world together. Before Taylor relocated to New England, we explored the southeast, hitting spots like Asheville, Greenville, Charlotte, and Orlando. When Taylor graduated from Power School, Erin was introduced to his whole family, and we both knew things were serious when Erin fit right in.

Afterward, we flew to Arizona, where Taylor showed Erin around his hometown of Phoenix. We hiked the Grand Canyon and Piestewa Peak, creating memories we’ll never forget.
Then, we took on Germany, visiting Frankfurt, Munich, the Black Forest, and even Zurich, Switzerland. Now that we’re living in New England, we’re exploring new places like Cape Cod, Boston, Plymouth, New Jersey, New York, Block Island, and Rhode Island. And there are still so many places we want to see!

On our travels, we love to explore the local zoos, aquariums, gardens, trails, and waterfalls. But our favorite adventures involve hunting down the best roller coasters! Fury at Carowinds holds the top spot for now, but Kingda Ka at Six Flags New Jersey, with its insane speed of 128 miles per hour in just 3 seconds!

When we’re not traveling, we enjoy working out together at our local CrossFit gym, going to fun events, cuddling with our dog Emma and our cat Vista, and relaxing at home playing games.

Our Future
Wherever the military takes us, we’ll keep exploring together. Erin will continue growing her business and supporting the community, and eventually, we hope to start a family. Who knows? Maybe one day, we’ll be the next Wild Thornberrys—traveling the world, embracing every new adventure, and loving every step of the way.
